Land Use Bylaw

The Land Use Bylaw is the central planning document governing land use and development within the municipality. Building on the framework established by the Municipal Development Plan, Area Structure Plans, and Intermunicipal Development Plans, it provides a detailed blueprint for future development that reflects those higher-order plans.

The bylaw defines the permitted and discretionary uses for every parcel of land in the municipality, sets the standards that must be followed when undertaking those uses or erecting structures, and ensures that decisions made on individual parcels are consistent with its requirements.
